In my capacity as Commanding Officer of the SHAPE Federal Police Unit, I am very happy, along with my partners, to write those few words:

Firstly, I would like to inform you that our active participation in the realisation of articles on SHAPE WEBSITE "SHAPE2DAY” is totally part of our set of mind of a police guided through information. Our Belgian policing model "community policing” is mainly based on the large approach of security and the quality of life. It tends towards an integrated police in our society with the purpose to help, protect and serve the citizens that you are, and together with the SHAPE community, are working to find out solutions based on local circumstances being the cause of insecurity.  (Unsocial behaviour and security problems of the SHAPE compound and its surroundings).

We would like to provide you all with advice and all the support that you might need.  This would be achieved with the support of the International Military Police and the Local Police Units.

Mindful of our values, we are committed to acting dutifully and open-mindedly, with flexibility and transparency, with impartiality towards any of you.

Finally, I would like to remind you of our round the clock dispatching service (Police desk: 065443334) where my federal police partners will provide you assistance in English and in French.
