SHAPE Events Centre
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Branch is excited about the variety of activities we offer to the community in SHAPE EVENTS CENTRE.
The facility may be used/rented by the entire community for many activities; meetings, conferences, promotion parties, organization functions, bingo and birthday parties. MWR Central is also used to host AFE Entertainment groups and bands. Over the past year, we have hosted a dozen entertainment groups.
Every Friday evening the facility is open from 1600 until 0100 hours, with a 'Happy Hour' (1900 to 2000 hours) and snacks. We offer either a band or a DJ that plays from 2100 hours until closing and sometimes we have both. The ball room has a dance area, bar lounge and a sports bar with darts, pool tables and Air Hockey.
The lounge and sports bar has three televisions, one of which is a large screen covering the wall. It is a great place to enjoy a night out. The facility is great for viewing all sports events. The daily showing of the World Cup Soccer tournament in 2006 was a success, as was the screening of the 2007 Super Bowl event.
Note: You must be 18 years old or older to come into the facility on Friday evenings and during bingo. 100% ID checks will be made.
