Cats and Dogs on Base

HousingLogoWAccording to SHAPE Village directive SD 100-3, "Rules and Regulations for the Operations and Administrations of SHAPE Village Housing”, Article 2 (2), it is stated:

Animals or other pets are permitted in apartments and houses provided that they are not allowed to disturb other residents. They will be kept under control at all times. They are not permitted to foul the sidewalks, grass areas around the SHAPE housing, and children’s playing parks. Animal owners are responsible for the disposal of any unwanted deposits left by their pets. If any animal becomes a nuisance, the right to keep it in SHAPE may be withdrawn. It is recommended that dog owners affix an identification tag to the animal’s collar to speed recovery of lost or injured animals.

During the past weeks and months, complaints have increased about dogs which are encountered alone on-base. Also, complaints about dog-fouling on the grass areas close to other tenant’s houses have been reported.

We kindly remind all pet keepers that they are obliged to take care of their animals in order to avoid nuisances for other inhabitants of SHAPE Village. They are not allowed to be alone outside of your house. Please be reminded that barking dogs outside of their homes might scare children and pedestrians. If your pet creates unwanted deposits, please remove them to help keep SHAPE Village clean.
