Introduction to Pottery

During this class you will learn to wedge, center, pull a cylinder and bowl, trim pots, and attach handles.  Keep in mind that learning to throw pottery can be a frustrating but rewarding experience. Each time you practice you will improve your skills and your pots. 8 sessions 65 Euros May.8th - June 12th Tues/Thurs. 12:30 -2:30 (skipping May17th,29th and June 5th)
 

Pottery for Homeschoolers

We will focus on the same skills as the adult class, but the instruction will go at a slower pace allowing the kids more time for each step. For children ages 10 and up. Parents Welcome!
 

Practice on Your Own

It would be ideal if you could practice once a week on your own in order to reinforce what you have learned in class. Arts and Crafts is offering this at a discounted rate of 2.50 Euros per day. Stay an hour or stay the whole day! Buy a punch card of 10 visits for a deeper discount, just 23 Euros.
 

Continuing Pottery

In this second session you will build on the skills of the first class. In addition, we will focus on throwing platters/plates, adding spouts to teapots/pitchers, and making a lidded pot.  Depending on the interests of the class we will also explore decorative techniques including wax resist, carving, underglaze, slip design, altering pots, stamping, and different handles. 6 Sessions 50 Euros. Feb. 28th -March 30th Wed. Mornings 9:30 -11:30, Wed. Evenings 5:30 - 7:30 (Adding Friday March 30th)
 

Parent/Child Hand-Building

In this class we will make hand-built pottery including a pinch pot, lump pot, and slab pot. We will focus on decoration and also glaze together. Kids of all ages welcome. Clay, glaze, and borrowed tools included in team price for 60 Euros. Feb. 28th, March 6th, 13th, 27th Tuesday Evenings 5 -6:15pm. Price per parent/child team (up to two children).
 
To sign up for classes stop by SHAPE Arts and Crafts Center. 6 spaces are available in each class.  All but one of our wheels go both right and left handed. The 6th wheel only goes left handed.
