Driving License

As the Shape Driving License is giving access to a Belgian one without any formalities or tests (agreed by the Belgian government and Shape), if you are registered in Belgium and have a Bel ID.

A Shape driving license may only be delivered to nationals of a NON-EU country. Nationals of an EU country must use their own National or European driving license. The details of the National Driving License MUST be filled in the ISIPS screen. This is a must because these details are linked and give access to a Shape driving license or not.

Non-EU nationals may be provided with a Shape driving license if:

a.     They are registered in Belgium (except military)

b.     The date of delivery of the national driving license is inferior to the date of arrival in Belgium. If the national driving license is issued after the date of arrival in Belgium, than he/she is NOT entitled to a Shape driving license. In this case he/she must pass the theoretical and practical examine to obtain a Belgian driving License.

c.      If there is NO date of issue on the National US driving license, this means that it was delivered 5 Years before the expiration date.

1. Renwable in case of stolen or lost.
2. Understood and recognized by Police Authorities in Belgium.
3. Validation the same as the ID Card.
4. Give some prove to be authorized to drive a tax free vehicle.
