What do I need to do to de-register my car?

You ALWAYS need to go to customs office (bldg 210, rm 112) to have your vehicle "regularised”.

A. In case of end of your tour of duty (TOD) :
You hand in the plates (particularly the rear one) to the Family Support and Central Processing Branch-Registration Section (FSCP-RGN) and a copy of the documents stating that you are leaving Shape. In case you need the rear plates to return home or for shipping the car, you may return them later by mail.

B. Not at the end of your TOD:
You will have to provide proof that that car does no longer belong to you (bill of sale, copy of the new registration in any country, shipping documents, etc) and return the plates (particularly the rear one) to the Family Support and Central Processing Branch-Registration Section (FSCP-RGN).
