SHAPE Bowling Association

Aim and Objectives

The aim of the SHAPE Bowling Association (SBA) is to promote Tenpin Bowling in the international community of SHAPE and to develop friendly relations with the local civilian bowling community.
In order to fulfil the aim, the Association will provide opportunities via membership to all eligible persons, to learn and advance in their abilities to play the Sport of Bowling. Additionally, members will be encouraged to participate in the Association Activities, including Leagues and Competitions.

Membership

Any individual, military or civilian, who has an assignment or contract to work on the SHAPE compound or at the Air Base (AB) Chievres, may apply to join the SBA. In addition and upon application, individuals with links to SHAPE and Chievres, may request to be a Member of the Association.

SBA members are required at all times to comply strictly with the etiquette of Bowling and to abide by the Rules governing MWA Group II Activities. Failure to abide by these Rules may lead to termination of Membership to the Association, but only after ratification of the Commander Base Support Group (BSG) as the Head of Morale and Welfare Activities (MWA), and the Head of Legal Activities at SHAPE.
