The SHAPE Federal Police carry out their missions on public and private grounds which had been placed at SHAPE disposal by Belgium. Most of these missions are conducted in close cooperation and mixed with the SHAPE international military police. SHAPE Federal Police also provide support to local police units around SHAPE when a shapien is concerned. This police unit of over 80 people is there to guarantee Belgium’s commitments towards SACEUR and SHAPE.

SHAPE Federal Police missions are:

-SACEUR’s protection 24/7

-Reception and advice

-Intervention to prevent, look for and record any breach into Belgian regulation

-Investigation

-Community policing (police watch scheme)

-Road Safety

-Maintenance of law and order
