Half an Hour Gives Me Power

From: 2020/04/01 - Till: -

Two Estonian ladies, Karin and Mariliis, who are currently stationed in Western Europe (Belgium SHAPE and the Netherlands Brunsum), have created an international community called “Half an Hour Gives Me Power“. Being active is a crucial part of our lives, but it is increasingly difficult to lead a healthy lifestyle alone, especially now that all the sports facilities are closed. This is why we have started a virtual group for those who want to make healthier choices and take part in regular fitness and those who just want an extra challenge.

Everyone who belongs to the HHP(Half an Hour Power) group values a healthy and active lifestyle. We favor different sports activities and encourage exercising at a suitable time, place, and pace, at least 30 minutes a day. For motivation, there is a scoring system and raffle prizes.

In April, “Half an Hour Power” recognizes Estonian veterans and supports the charity campaign "Let us Salute!" So, we created a virtual event, The Blue Hepatica Journey. Just like the poppy is a symbol of Remembrance, Blue Hepatica is a symbol of Estonian veterans.

From the 1st to the 30th of April, participants advance on the map and visit the Estonian Defence Forces Units virtually, according to their submitted daily distance. It is not a competition; all participants get a certificate and have a chance to win a raffle prize.

The participation fee is 10€, of which 2€ will be donated to the charity.

We are inviting the SHAPE community to be healthy and active and support the Estonian Veteran charity campaign “Let us Salute!”
