Life at SHAPE is unique. With 32 NATO member nations and additional partner and military cooperation nations represented at SHAPE, we are a truly diverse community. To help acclimate you and your family to your new community, we organize briefings and guided tours of Mons from July to September.

A Tour of Mons on each date will take place as well. To attend the Briefings and (or) the Tour of Mons, registration will be required.

SHAPE Village Interest Survey

Throughout 2026, you have the unique opportunity to participate in a study regarding your interest in SHAPE Village accommodations. This information will be used by the Housing Office to evaluate both current and future inventory, allowing us to better serve you (SHAPE community). 
Please note, this survey is not a part of the registration process.

What is the difference between a SHAPE ID and a Protocol ID?

The SHAPE ID is an internal identification card that grants access to SHAPE services and administrative offices.
The Belgian Protocol ID, on the other hand, is an official residence document issued by the Belgian authorities and serves as proof of legal residence in Belgium. The Protocol ID can only be requested after obtaining a SHAPE ID and having a registered address in Belgium.

How does vehicle registration work at SHAPE?

All vehicles imported, purchased, or used in Belgium must be registered within one month of arrival or acquisition. Vehicle registrations are typically valid for up to three years. Only eligible SHAPE ID holders may register vehicles under SHAPE plates, in accordance with Belgian regulations.

How can I apply for housing through SHAPE Village?

To apply for on-base housing at SHAPE Village, applicants must follow the housing procedures described on SHAPE2DAY. This process includes submitting the required documentation, attending an appointment, and complying with allocation policies established by the housing office.

How can a guest visit SHAPE?

All visitors must be authorized in advance and are required to be sponsored by a SHAPE member. Visitor access requests must be submitted using the SF550 at least five working days prior to the visit.
