Face coverings become mandatory in Belgium from 25 July in open markets (‘brocantes' or flea markets), streets or dense areas and parts of official buildings accessible to the public. Face coverings continue to be mandatory in shops, shopping centres, shopping streets, cinemas, bars and restaurants (when not seated at tables).
Inside the SHAPE compound, the 500-area including the parking area is considered to be a public area. To that end, all personnel are mandated to wear a face mask, at all times in the 500-area when not inside their vehicle. Military and Federal police will be carrying out regular checks of compliance in order to protect our SHAPE community.
