The SGA is formed as a sporting organisation operating under the rules of the SHAPE Morale and Welfare Activities (MWA) Program, Community Service, as a Group II activity. The SGA is affiliated to the Royal Golf Club du Hainaut & the Mont Garni Golf.
The object of the SGA is to promote golf in the international community of SHAPE, and to develop friendly relations with the local civilian golfing community. We currently have over 100 active golfers of all ages and abilities, and are always looking to promote the great game of golf to new SHAPIANs. Throughout the year we maintain a busy schedule ranging from the traditional Thursday night scramble through weekend competitions to more formal matches against military and local golfclubs, something to everyone’s liking. Any military or civilian member of SHAPE who wishes to enjoy SGA playing privileges at the RGCH or Mont Garni must first join the SGA.
