To use the Sports and Fitness Facilities and programs, you must be 18 years old and present a valid SHAPE ID card authorising access to SHAPE facilities. Patrons must bring a workout towel to use while working out.

The facility offers cardio and strength training equipment as well as basketball courts, track, pitches, pool, climbing wall and equipment for a variety of sports such as badminton, table tennis, squash/racquetball, spinning, etc. Lockers are available for daily checkout or monthly/yearly rental.

Additionally, there are a variety of inclusive and diverse classes, most of which are run by volunteers and are free to attend.

Besides our daily activities, we offer yearly events such as 1/2 Marathon, 24 Hour Fun Run (Make-A-Wish) and International Basketball Tournament. Finally, don’t forget to inquire about fitness challenges, intramural sports program and SACEUR Sports Trophy competition. Due to limited space, Indoor Cycling classes require online booking at the link provided below.

Fitness Annex

The Fitness Annex (Building 301) is situated across the Sports & Fitness Centre parking lot. The facility has a selection of free weights and fixed weights machines, a large amount of cardio vascular equipment and a good stretching area. 

Patrons must bring a workout towel to use the facilities.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool on SHAPE is open every day of the week for lap swim for the entire community. The pool schedule is available on the link here below. The pool length is 25 meters and there is no fee to use the pool. Its primary purpose is for military usage and training. Recreational activities are secondary and provide an opportunity for community usage. For this reason the pool water is kept at regulated 27 °C. This is a temperature advised to avoid bacterial proliferation and is the recommended temperature for training and lap swimming.
